7 hunting safety tips to follow while hunting

Planning on going on a hunt this weekend? Even if you are all geared up, there are still some issues you need to keep in mind before hitting the bull’s eye. Here are 7 hunting safety tips to follow that you definitely need to keep in mind while going on a hunting.

Keep your finger off the trigger
This is a major mistake most of the people do. Keeping your finger on the trigger may accidentally result in shooting at unwanted target; hence creating havoc. Unless you are targeting a prey, keep off your finger out of the trigger. Put your finger on the trigger only after you have decided to shoot a specific prey.

Dress up according to weather
Often people tend to wear either heavy cloths or very light cloths while hunting. This has no rule of thumb actually. You should choose your dress according to the weather. Heavy cloths while summer heat can cause sweating that may raise the probability of catching cold. Extra Light cloths in cool seasons may ease your movement but can cause flues and other cold related sickness. Just go with the weather while choosing attire.

Keep essential life savers
Always keep a lighter (or a match box), water, a space blanket and a Phone with full charge. You can turn if off while hunting but it definitely needs to be there for an emergency situation. Keep a fully charged power-bank as well. If you have medical conditions, keep necessary medicine with you. Always keep a first aid box to aid you at certain surprising situations.

Carry extra ammo
Never fall short of ammunition. While hunting with a short gun, keep a few shells of ammo more than estimated. In case of adverse situation those extra ammo may come handy. Plus, always double check the size of the shells before setting out. Incorrect ammo will cause definite danger.

Do not keep a loaded gun in Car
While setting out for hunting, never keep your gun loaded. It can cause serious accidents at times. Having a loaded gun is also illegal at many areas. In Addition, accidental click and push can initiate a fire and cause fatal injuries including death.

Keep awake of other hunters
If you are hunting at a location where other hunters are giving a go as well, give them space and never gather around at a specific place. If there is a hunting party going on, there must have some regulations to follow. Keep your eyes and ears on people around you and never ever shoot at random sounds. Analyze the situation and make sure you do not hurt anybody.

Forecast weather
Lastly, always go through the day’s weather forecast before going for a hunting. Do not set off just by looking at the bright day. You can go through the Local newspapers or news channels for the update, or you can browse weather forecasting sites for the forecasting as well.  This will help you prepare for any kind of change in environment.

Keeping these quick and easy tricks in mind can make your hunting day a real special one. Always check and double check the suggestions to have a better hunting day.
